Amsterdam Visa & Passport

Passport and visa are your entry document. So these are the most important formality which must be seriously done. One must remember that passport and visa regulation are subject to constant change. Hence, travelers must keep update themselves with the foreign office or the relevant embassy before travel.

Amsterdam visa is not required for the British, Australian, Canadian, USA, other EU and Japanese citizens. But, passport to Amsterdam is required for all these visitors. Transit Visa is strictly required for the nationals of Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, Congo (Dem Rep), Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sierre Leone, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan and Syria; if they are passing through the country.

The Schengen Visa; a uniform type of visa is issued free of charge for the relevant schengen member nationals, for tourist, business and private visits. If charges are applied for visas then it may be between £7-£35, depending on the type of visa and the exchange rate. The marriage and birth certificates for the nationals of the Dominican Republic, Ghana, India, Nigeria and Pakistan should be verified and legalized by the relevant Netherlands Embassy or visa fee will be charged.

Validity of short stay visas are for up to 6 months from the date of issue for single or multiple entries of maximum 90 days per entry. Validity of transit visa for single or multiple entries are maximum 5 days per entry, including the day of arrival. A new application is compulsory for the extension of visas.
